Month of January

Aries

While things are relatively quiet on the romantic and relationship fronts this month, don't think that this is what you can expect from the coming year. Instead, with Jupiter returning to your romantic sector in June to begin your luckiest year for love, matters of the heart and all things romantic in over a decade, this is something that from the start you should be working towards. This includes paying attention during the Moon's monthly visits and from the start, working towards making your life as love friendly as possible.

The Moon will make its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 5th January to 7th January and while the fleeting visit that it makes every four weeks, each one gets you closer to Jupiter's return. With the Moon set to come full circle on 1st February to begin the lead up to a Full Moon a day later, this can be seen as a practice run. Meanwhile, with no planetary activity in your relationship sector until the second half of the year and even then, with just the Sun, Mercury and Venus returning this year, here the Moon's monthly visits are just as important.

It is two days after leaving your romantic sector that the Moon will return for its first visit to your relationship sector for the year, from 9th January to 11th January. As is the case with each monthly visit, this will be a chance to check in and become more emotionally and intuitively engaged and aware. Also important, with no planetary activity on the relationship front until the second half of the year, are the Moon's monthly visits to your communication sector, which can help to keep the communication lines open.

The Moon will start the year in your communication sector before leaving on 3rd January, only to return again from 28th January to 30th January. Each time, this will make it easier to give your emotional responses a voice and to wear your heart on your sleeve.

Taurus

While on the romantic front itself nothing has changed, in the real world everything has changed. On the one hand, there has been no planetary activity in your romantic sector since Venus left in October, while on the other hand, though not a planet and instead a force that can gently guide or keep things on track, the South Node has been here since January 2025 and will be until it and its partner the North Node leave in July. It is having the South Node here that turned an ordinary Full Moon in March 2025 into a total lunar eclipse and a New Moon in September 2025 into a solar eclipse and it will do it again in March, each time bringing the element of fate into play.

While the South Node has been quietly keeping matters of the heart on track and the Moon's monthly visits have been a chance to connect with this, the difference is the return of the Sun and planets to an adventurous part of your chart last month and especially the return of Venus and Mars, the planets of love and passion. You begin the year with the Sun, Venus, Mars and the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment in an adventurous part of your chart, with Mercury joining them on 2nd January. While Juno is here until March, by the time the rest leave this month, they will have all formed a friendly aspect to the South Node.

Until Venus leaves on 18th January, this is giving her mission to bring the spirit of romance and adventure together an additional boost, as will the Moon's first visit to your romantic sector for the year, from 7th January to 9th January. Meanwhile, with no planets in your relationship sector since Mercury left in December and none until the second half of the year, the Moon's first visit for the year from 11th January to 14th January will be a valuable chance to check in and become more emotionally engaged and aware. Also benefiting your relationships will be the Moon's return to your communication sector from 3rd January to 5th January, when as the first Full Moon of 2026, this can get the communication lines open.

Gemini

While you will move into the New Year with no planets in your romantic sector and instead, with the focus more on getting the most out of Mercury's final days in your relationship sector before leaving on 2nd January, the love gods are planning something special later in the month. To begin with though, it is all about Mercury, who having returned at the end of October for what is normally the planet of communication's 14 to 15 day chance to get the communication lines open, finally leaves. Mercury did leave in November, only to retrograde back in and in time to work with the Sun, Venus, Mars and the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment as they moved through.

The Sun left your relationship sector just before Christmas, Venus on Christmas Day and Juno at the end of last month, leaving Mercury behind to help you move into the New Year with the communication lines open. This will end all planetary activity on the relationship front until he and the Sun return in December, with Venus not returning in 2026, Mars not back until later next year and Juno in four years. This makes Mercury's final days especially important, along with the Moon's monthly visits, which for the rest of the year will help to keep you emotionally engaged and connected.

The first of those visits will be from 14th January to 16th January. Before then, the Moon will make its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 9th January to 11th January. These should be some of the most romantically charged days of the month, but instead, they could be outdone when Venus, the planet of love returns to an adventurous part of your chart on 18th January, where she will spend the next 24 days bringing the spirit of romance and adventure together.

She will have plenty of help with that, with Mars returning on 23rd January to begin his first chance in two years to fire up a passion for adventure, with the Sun and Mercury here by then as well.

Cancer

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your relationship sector, the solar spotlight is always on your relationships over the holiday period and as you move into the New Year. This year, the Sun is not on his own, bringing some impressive company with him, while having built in support from the South Node in your communication sector. The year begins with Mars and Venus, the planets of love and passion in your relationship sector and the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment and especially commitment to your relationships having just returned in the final 48 hours of 2025.

They will be joined on 2nd January by Mercury, with the planet of communication completing the team that will take you and your relationships into the new year. Mercury's return couldn't come with better timing, but it is during his first full day that a Full Moon in Cancer on 3rd January, something that will always fall at some point during the Sun's month long visit, will see them clash in a way that can put pressure on a balance between your own and your relationship needs. This is key to understanding what you want from your relationships and what they need from you and it comes just as every planet that will visit your relationship sector this year is all here at the same time.

It is two weeks later that the Moon will return to your relationship sector from 17th January to 19th January, where as the first New Moon of 2026 will offer a chance to check in, become more emotionally engaged and aware and draw a new line in the sand. A New Moon is all about new beginnings, but with Venus leaving on 18th January, the Sun on 20th January, Mercury on 21st January and Mars on 23rd January, this is also a chance to capture their influence before they leave. This will leave Juno on her own and until leaving at the end of March, will help to keep things on track.

Meanwhile, with no planetary activity in your romantic sector, the Moon's return from 11th January to 14th January will make these some of the most romantically charged days of the month.

Leo

This month will see a shift in focus from matters of the heart and onto your relationships and while this has nothing to do with the New Year, the fact that this shift will happen in January makes this even more the end of one chapter and the start of the next that it already is. There has been continuous planetary activity in your romantic sector since Mars returned in September for his first visit in two years and the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment less than two weeks later. Since then, the Sun and Venus have moved through, though with Mercury, who had returned at the end of October for a 14 to 15 day mission to give your heart a voice and to put heart and mind on the same page still here.

Mercury will leave on 2nd January, ending all planetary activity on the romantic front until he and the Sun return in December. With Venus and Mars not returning in 2026, this makes Mercury's final hours here all the more important. However, the Moon will continue to return every four weeks, with these monthly visits key to keeping the spirit of romance alive and especially when it makes its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 14th January to 16th January.

It is just two days later that the focus will shift onto your relationships, though starting the year with Pluto here, this was already the case, but in a business as usual kind of way. What happens next will be anything but slow or gradual, with a sudden powering up on the relationship front that will begin with Venus, the planet of love's return on 18th January, followed by the Sun's return on 20th January, Mercury, the planet of communication's return on 21st January and Mars' return on 23rd January. With the Moon making its first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 19th January to 21st January, this will ensure you are emotionally engaged and aware when the dam bursts and the most important months of the year on the relationship front kick off.

Virgo

Because the Sun will always spend the last 10 days and the first three weeks of each year in your romantic sector, the solar spotlight is always on matters of the heart and all things romantic at the start of each year. Even more so this year, with the Sun beginning the year with some impressive company. As well as moving into the New Year with Venus and Mars, the planets of love and passion in your romantic sector, it was in the closing 48 hours of 2025 that the asteroid Juno, the queen of commitment returned for the first time in four years.

While even Mercury, who will return on 2nd January to give your heart a voice and to put heart and mind on the same page will be gone by the end of the month, Juno is here until the end of March. While Venus will leave on 18th January, the Sun on 20th January, Mercury on 21st January and Mars on 23rd January and in the space of just five days they will all leave, because of Juno's return this won't be the end of all planetary activity on the romantic front for the year, which it otherwise would have been. Meanwhile, the Moon's first visit to your romantic sector for the year couldn't come with better timing, with its return from 17th January to 19th January as the first New Moon of 2026, helping to capture the essence of those departing planets before they leave.

It is two days later, that on 21st January the Moon will not only return for its first visit to your relationship sector for the year, but the last before just six days later and having first returned in 2012 Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams leaves on 27th January, not to return again in our lifetime. This is also the Moon's last visit before Saturn leaves next month, though he will stay on until Venus, the planet of love returns and to focus on giving you the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to make Neptune's dreams a reality. The Moon will align with both before leaving on 24th January, giving you a read on the planets that are helping to set your relationships on the course they can continue on.

Libra

While on both the romantic and relationship fronts it is business as usual, by the end of the month that will have changed dramatically. On the romantic front, business as usual means moving into the New Year with Pluto, the planet of change and transformation in your romantic sector, where he has been since returning in November 2024 to spend the next 20 years here and on his own since the last planet left in February. That will remain the case until 18th January, the day that everything not only changes but kicks off a chain reaction that in the space of just five days will see everything change.

It starts with Venus, the planet of love's return to your romantic sector on 18th January to begin what she will be working to make some of the most romantically charged weeks of 2026. It is a day later that the Moon will return for its first visit for the year and it is while these romantically charged lunar vibes are in effect from 19th January to 21st January, that even more change will take place. It is while the Moon is here that the Sun will return on 20th January, something that will see the solar spotlight shift onto matters of the heart and all things romantic, with Mercury returning on 21st January to give your heart a voice and to put heart and mind on the same page.

It is two days later that on 23rd January, Mars will return for his first chance in two years to fire up your romantic passions and fighting spirit. Meanwhile, while developments on the relationship front this month are just as if not more extreme, they are also more gradual. It will start with Chiron, the planet of healing's direct turn in your relationship sector on 3rd January, followed by the dwarf planet Eris, the warrior princess of the cosmos' direct turn on 12th January.

This is the point when the focus will shift off the past and onto the future and just in time, with the Moon making its first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 24th January to 26th January. It is a day later and thanks to the Moon, feeling emotionally engaged and aware that on 27th January Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams will return to spend the next 13 years in your relationship sector.

Scorpio

On both the romantic and relationship fronts, you have come to the end of a major era, with the early weeks and months of the year some of the most important. While the Sun, Venus and Mercury will all return to your romantic sector next month and will continue to come around at the same time each year and they are always going to put the focus on your relationships around April/May each year, the planets that have been here for years are getting ready to leave. Having returned in 2012 Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams tried to leave last year, but retrograded back in, as did Saturn, who had been here since March 2023.

Both are still here as you move into the New Year, but when Neptune leaves on 27th January it will be another 150 years before he returns, with Saturn leaving a few weeks later, not to return with the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes for another three decades. The Moon will make its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 21st January to 23rd January, in time for these romantically charged lunar vibes to capture Neptune's influence before he leaves. However, this is not the end, with Venus, the planet of love returning before Saturn leaves next month to keep the romantic flame burning.

Meanwhile, after six years Uranus also left your relationship sector last year, only to retrograde back in. Here things aren't as urgent, for Uranus is still in retrograde motion, won't turn direct until early next month and won't leave until April. However, as once he leaves it will be another eight decades before the planet that can help you keep things real and authentic returns, it is important to pay attention.

As you move into the New Year the Moon has just left and wrapped up its last visit for 2025, with a chance to start the year emotionally engaged and aware. You will get a second chance when the Moon comes full circle from 26th January to 28th January. Meanwhile, there is support from the communication gods all month.

Sagittarius

To begin with, it is business as usual, yet by the end of the month, something special will be underway on both the romantic and relationship fronts, though one in a direct and the other in a more indirect way. More direct is the slow awakening on the romantic front, which instead of happening in one fell swoop, will unfold as the month progresses. It starts with Chiron, the planet of healing's direct turn in your romantic sector on 3rd January, giving you a chance to lay some old ghosts to rest and then put the past behind you.

It is nine days later that the dwarf planet Eris, the warrior princess of the cosmos will turn direct on 12th January. This will awaken your inner romantic warrior and just in time, for it is just over two weeks later that Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams will return to spend the next 13 years in your romantic sector. Neptune dipped his toe in the water last year before retrograding back out again, but this time he is here to stay and next month will be joined by Saturn, who will spend the next two years giving you the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

The Moon will make its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 24th January to 26th January, with these romantically charged lunar vibes running their course just 24 hours before Neptune's return. Meanwhile, more indirect is the boost that your relationships will get from the return of so many planets to your communication sector this month. While there are no planets in your relationship sector, with Uranus returning in April to spend the next seven days guiding your relationships in a real and authentic direction, this is a chance to first get the communication lines open.

However, you do start the month with the Moon in your relationship sector until 3rd January, coming full circle with another chance to check in and become more emotionally engaged and aware from 26th January to 28th January. This time it will be to find the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars, the planets of love, communication and passion all in your communication sector.

Capricorn

Beginning the year with Uranus, the planet of surprise, synchronicity and the unexpected back in your romantic sector, where he had been for six years before leaving in July 2025 and Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion in your relationship sector, where he has been since June 2025, is both a continuation of last year and a powerful start to the year on both fronts. Unlike the Sun, Venus and Mercury, who race in and out of your romantic and relationship sectors once a year and Mars every other year, these are slow planets that set up residence and not only have time to make their presence felt but will have ongoing implications for months if not years after they leave. Uranus will leave your romantic sector in April, not to return for another eight decades, but with a lot of water set to pass under the bridge before then.

Uranus is still in retrograde motion and not turning direct until early next month, the focus is more on the past. When you move into the new month the Moon has just left and wrapped up its last visit to your romantic sector for 2024, with a sense of romantic nostalgia in the air from the start. By the time the Moon comes full circle from 26th January to 28th January, Uranus will be at a standstill and just days away from turning direct.

Meanwhile, with Jupiter not leaving your relationship sector until June, you are at the halfway point of your biggest year for relationship growth in over a decade but like Uranus, he too is in retrograde motion, with the doors open to the past. The Moon will make two visits to your relationship sector this month, the first from 3rd January to 5th January and then returning again on 30th January. While each will be a valuable chance to check in and become more emotionally engaged and aware, when the Moon returns on 3rd January, it will be as the first Full Moon of 2026, something that at some point during your birthday month put a balance between your own and your relationship needs to the test.

Fortunately, with the support of the planets in your communication sector.

Aquarius

While there is no planetary activity in either your romantic and relationship sector this month and won't be for several months, don't be tricked into thinking that this isn't going to be a big year on either front. The very opposite is true, with the love and relationship gods doing a good job of disguising this as business as usual on both fronts. Instead, what you have are the stars moving things into position, knowing what is coming.

That is especially so on the communication front, with first Chiron, the planet of healing's direct turn in your communication sector on 3rd January and then Eris, the warrior princess of the cosmos' direct turn on 12th January helping the communication lines to flow more smoothly. They will be joined by Neptune, the planet of hopes and dreams, who will return on 27th January to spend the next 13 years in your communication sector, with Saturn returning early next month to spend the next two years giving you the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes. This is all in preparation for Jupiter's return to your relationship sector in June to begin your biggest relationship year in over a decade.

Helping to keep you emotionally engaged and aware and take advantage of the growing communication support, will be the Moon's first visit to your relationship sector for the year from 5th January to 7th January, before returning on 1st February as a Full Moon. Meanwhile, while there is no planetary activity in your romantic sector, in April Uranus, the planet of surprise, synchronicity and the unexpected will return to spend the next seven years here, something that your heart's over the horizon radar is already alert to. The Moon will make two visits to your romantic sector this month, each with a different impact.

The Moon will start the month in your romantic sector before leaving on 3rd January, while Uranus will spend the whole of January in retrograde motion and with Venus, the planet of love in a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart, this will add to a sense of nostalgia. By the time the Moon comes full circle from 28th January to 30th January, Venus will be in Aquarius and looking to the future, while Uranus will be just days away from turning direct.

Pisces

For the first time in 12 years, you are moving into the New Year with Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion in your romantic sector and at the halfway point in what since returning in June 2025 and leaving in June 2026, he will be working to make your luckiest year for love, matters of the heart and all things romantic in over a decade. Jupiter begins the year in retrograde motion and not turning direct until March, with the focus on the past. While Jupiter will be holding the doors open to the past and second chances all month, it is when Venus returns to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart on 18th January that a sense of romantic nostalgia will really set in.

This will see Venus return to take your heart on a nostalgic trip down love's memory lane that will end with her return to Pisces next month. This is a trip that your heart takes each year, and usually in conjunction with the month long wind down of your old solar year. However, for the first time in 12 years, with Jupiter not only in your romantic sector but in retrograde motion, holding the doors open to the past and second chances.

The Moon will make two visits to your romantic sector this month, each significant for different reasons. The Moon will not only return to your romantic sector from 3rd January to 5th January, but as the first Full Moon of 2026, these romantically charged lunar vibes will be a lot more potent. By the time the Moon comes full circle on 30th January, Venus will be in a nostalgic part of your chart and the doors to the past and second chances will be open even wider.

Meanwhile, while more subtle, there is a lot of indirect support on the relationship front this month, with the planets moving through a social and serendipitous part of your chart all forming a friendly aspect to the South Node in your relationship sector and to Uranus in your communication sector as they move through. In the heart of what will be a positive start to the year on the communication, social and relationship fronts, from 7th January to 9th January, the Moon's first visit to your relationship sector for the year is a chance to become more emotionally engaged, connected and aware.
